Why Casablanca
Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and main international airport hub (CMN) — often the first or last point on a trip, and a common long-haul entry for travellers heading north to the blue city. It is not the imperial-romantic Morocco of postcards but a working modern metropolis: art-deco architecture from the French period, an Atlantic corniche, and the staggering Hassan II Mosque rising over the water. Most visitors transit through, taking a half-day to see it properly before the train or drive on toward Tangier and the Rif.

For most leisure travellers, a half-day around the Hassan II Mosque and downtown is enough. Spend your nights in Chefchaouen, Fes or Marrakech instead — Casablanca is best treated as a gateway rather than a destination.
Yes, though not directly. The usual route is the Al Boraq high-speed train from Casablanca to Tangier (about 2h10), then a 2-hour private transfer up the Rif road to the blue city. Allow most of a day; many travellers break the journey with a night in Tangier or Fes.
