Chefchaouen is the classic day trip from Tangier: roughly two hours south through the Rif foothills, and the most rewarding excursion on Morocco's north coast. We collect you from your Tangier hotel or the ferry terminal in a private vehicle, drive the scenic road into the mountains, and arrive in the Blue City in time for the best of the day.
A local guide walks you through the indigo medina — Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the kasbah, the photogenic lanes and the wool souk — then you have free time for lunch, shopping and your own photographs before the drive back. It's a long but easy day, entirely private and at your pace. For those who want more, we recommend the two-day version with an overnight in the medina.

A day trip from Tangier works well and sees the highlights. But Chefchaouen is most magical at sunrise and after the day-trippers leave, so if your schedule allows, our two-day version with a medina overnight is the better experience.
